So, I downloaded the PCM update to 2.1c and a 2012 version of the Navi disk over the weekend.

I have a 2006 model Carrera S. that is on version 2.1B

I put the update CD into the DVD drive and the system recognised it and asked if i want to do the update. I watched as the update went up to 10% or so and then i left to make a coffee. I came back after 1 min and the update appeared to complete, radio was back on.

I then put the new DVD in and.. nothing, system just stays on initialising navigation.

Anybody got any ideas how to fix this?
Should i try to do the update again?
Could it be that the new Disc is not readable - it is a verbatim DVD-R i think

Any support greatly appreciated - and before somebody posts - No I am not considering changing the unit to something else!

I have also soft reset the device with 1,4,8
and most worryingly, when i try putting the old disk in it also does nothing.

Just a thought...were you doing this in the garage?? Does it need to be outside to get a sat. signal to "initialize"?
