GTS Production Numbers?

Hey Bknblk, I must agree with the premise of your post that indeed the color rarity factor adds to the value. No question about it, not one. Porsche 'special' colors have seen a fair amount of attention of late, including an article by the executive editor in Pano reporting on the trend.
I had two GTS, a Macadamia Metallic 6 speed with sport seats and a Carrara White PDK at the same time. I purposely set sights on the GTS models - regardless of the model's presence throughout the range - because the 997s are getting more market attention seen in a plateuing of values, especially for nice, low-mileage cars in unusual spec. I sold the Macadamia car at a premium largely due to the color, deemed as close as anyone could tell "less than 10". I had multiple offers quickly, and it sold to a dealer who then advanced it again.
As far as 'investment', I'd say you'd be in for a bit of a wait to have anything notable, but for whomever buys it and keeps it as nice as you have with an eye on the odometer, a GTS in that color will do better (my opinion) than a 'normal' 997 with normal miles in more predictable spec. The GTS's as a whole live on a bit of an island of oddity as though they're not King of the Hill Turbos, some people (including me) prefer naturally aspiration with all the other great turbo-car features. So, yes, as compared to the 997 market or even the subset of GTS cabs, I'd say your car will hold its value or appreciate better. So there.
Now, if we're picking 'ultimates', your color with say, 6-speed and sport seats, or just go nuts and get Center Lock deletes (like on my white car), you'd have a feeding frenzy of buyers bidding for the car (at some mildly sane number.) Someone on this forum may be able to help you with production numbers on your particular car, but I could only get as far as 'coupe' vs 'cab', then PDK vs manual, and color was thereafter a bit of fuzzy math. No matter, your car is beautiful and unusual. If it was a coupe, I'd have already called you.
Far as you having bought a 911 you 'didn't mean to', I did the exact same thing with a Ferrari 512TR that I tossed the dealer a bid if the first buyer flaked and 'voila', 2 days later the car was mine. One of the best cars (and buys) I've ever made. So, GOOD FOR YOU taking a bold chance; I hope that car serves you well, critics be derned.
Hope this helps and best to you.

To clarify, though, the 911 WAS intentionally purchased!! I’ve had it for over 5 years, and it’s been incredible. The funny similarity in our stories is that what I unintentionally bought is a 512BBi, lol! It’s been a dream of mine to own a 12 cylinder Ferrari and here I am, albeit unexpectedly.
It will be sad to see the GTS go, but it sounds like it may be time. I’ll see about posting in classifieds soon and post a link when I do.

It is shocking to me that there are only 1300 or so C4GTS' made for the 997 model. I purchased mine on a road trip basically out of the blue, saw it online before we left and we were staying in Portland on our trip where the car was located. On the way home I traded in my S4 for the GTS, put out luggage in it and drove to SF. The car was three years old and only had 5000 mi on it. It was pretty much the perfect storm lol. I don't think I'll ever sell the car, I was looking for a GTS to begin with but the rarity does appeal to me and to be honest, makes me want to hold on to it. Just like the B7 RS4.

This same thread has a terrific graphic with a breakdown of North American (including Canada) GTS cars:
