Dashboard mounted timer
My timer does not light up at night and I can hardly see it when driving at night.
Is there a way to make it light up or illuminate? I'm not using it but I'd like to be able to see it on the dash at night.

I don't think they light up, except the digital numbers.

I also read this in the manual and can someone explain how it work:
The personal memory function of
the Sport Chrono Package Plus
can also be used to store personalised
settings for a range of
systems, including the orientation
lighting or air conditioning.

Mine works like this.
Daytime, lights off - only the LCD is illuminated BUT only when the chrono is actually being used.
Nighttime, lights on - dial and LCD illuminated BUT only when the chrono is actually being used.
If the chrono is not being used it is dark.

The wart on the dash...you are calling the timer is just that a stop watch of sorts. It;'s really completely useless especially at the track. However Porsche packaged running lights and seat memory into getting this wart on the dash but you don't use the wart to program the light and seat memory functions. Those are programed on your PCM display. Yep a lot of it does't make sense.

Dealer can program the chromo so that it is alway illuminated or illuminated only when lights are on. Mine is programmed always on whether or not chromo is in use. I think Durametric Pro may be able to do this too but not positive.
