Battery Fluid Level Indicator

Greetings,

Original Porsche battery. Is the fluid level indicator inside battery cell?
Is it the plastic part sticking out in each cell?
I cannot see any other indicator levels on the battery.

Indicator is the plastic shelf at the bottom of each of the individual cell holes. Fluid level is correct when fluid it is even with the plastic shelf.

If you make any adjustments, use rubber gloves, eye protection and distilled water. Deionized water would be better but difficult to locate.

So should there be just a tad of fluid above the plastic shelf inside the battery shelf? There's a little pointer, for lack of a better term, that hangs down from the top of the battery but doesn't quite reach the plastic shelf. Is that the correct fluid level indicator?
