Just wondering if anyone out there is running a lightened flywheel? What you impression is it a worth while upgrade? My shifts are becoming slightly notchy I suspect the clutch is wearing......hard to believe given the mileage. I was thinking if I gotta go in and look now might be the time for a upgrade
I say go for it if you are planning transmission work. You will notice your car becoming more responsive in terms of acceleration, as well as, easier rev matching. It feels as though you just shed a couple of hundred pounds off the car. I have it on my car, the AASCO lightened flywheel. This mod is worth its value. If you do go this route, I would recommend you also get a sprung disk as well.

what is a sprung disk ? AASCO flywheel? i was kinda looking at the Sharkwerks single mass. Did you notice any more gear rattle or transmission type noise after getting rid of the dual mass flywheel

There will be some transmission sizzle lugging around without the dampening. And at idle it will make noticeably more noise akin to a factory gt3rs.
Sharkwerk's single mass flywheel is similar to, if not is AASCO Flywheel, IIRC. The stock clutch disk is an unsprung disk connected to the dual mass flywheel. The dual mass flywheel was designed for quiet operation, as well as, dampening the vibration from the crankshaft, thus the unsprung disk. With the single mass, lightened flywheel, there is no dual mass dampening of the crank, thus a sprung clutch disk would serve that purpose to some extent. This would minimize potential cracked crank.
As for drivability with a lightened flywheel, it's not much different from stock in my experience. You may have to rev the rpm to 1000 - 1200 before it gets going but once you get the hang of it, it becomes 2nd nature. There is more transmission rattling when in neutral, like a GT3 RS.
