Anyone here considering the F-Type?

I drove this one at a Jaguar F-type launch party. The sound is intoxicating, it burble, crackle, and pop. The test drive was in the Rocky Mountain's narrow two lane roads, it handled the turns quite nicely. I was able to get to 70mph really quick with the V8. I'm not too thrilled about the interior otherwise it's a nice car.

I'm really considering the Jag. There was an article in Automobile magazine that compared the Jag to an Audi R8, and a 911 Carrera S. The issue is June 2013. At the end, the author said that if it were his money, he'd go for the Jag.

I think all these options are nice but I keep coming back to the 911. They all pop up. Sure they're pretty (maybe sexier than the 911) e.g. the Aston, the Maserati the Jag F type, the R8. They all sound better than the 997 - although the 991 goes a long ways to correct that. You look at them and you fall for them and you want to buy one instantly. Been there done that. They garner much more attention. They may be quicker in a straight line and have more HP.
But at the end of the day, none of them drive better than the 911. It wins all the awards for the best drivers car. Against much more capable cars "on paper". The others come and go, yet the 911 remains. The 911 is a beauty only to those that get the 911 deal. It can fly under the radar. And it is built with very high quality. So its beauty is not just skin deep. I bought my 911 for high $80's 4 years ago. Its still worth close to or more than 60. You buy any of those other cars and watch where their values go in 4 years. Funnily enough it seems the exception is the R8.
To me, I'd have a 911 plus something else for special drives. Not DD or errand running. Something you use just for a fun drive or to track. That something else must be fun and impractical like a Ferrari (if you can swing it) or an Alfa or a Boxster Spyder or a GT3. The Maserati, Aston, Jag, BMW M6 seem more style than substance to me (flame suit on). Don't get me wrong, I'd take one. But they are aimed at more of the style crowd - vs. the car enthusiast crowd that wants to toss it around some bends or on the track.
