Winter Tires? Suggestions?
looking for something for winter use.. 50F down to 30F... possibly down to 20F with some snow occasionally..
19x8.5 fronts, 19x10 rears... so thats 235F +/-10mm, and 275R +/-10mm
curious what people reccomend that would give great balance and ride still but offer a rubber compound that wont turn hard a rock in the cold.

With 8.5 and 10" wheels, you're basically looking at 235/265. That's what I have in 18s on my C4S (so same widebody). The wheels in the rear sit a bit inwards, but not too bad, and it's ok for winter.
Tire options are basically Michelin PA2 vs. Sottozero, and as I stated in the other thread, both would be fine, both N-rated and meant to handle a Porsche, and I'd just pick the cheaper option between the two.

Drive my C4S 6 speed all year, 365. Live in North Jersey. MUST be able to get to work regardless so conditions. I'm a physician. I SWEAR by the Pirelli Sottozero serie 2. Downsized to an 18 rim (recommended). December - March.

Blizzaks are a good recommendation, but irrelevant if you are running a standard 997.2 rim. Why? Because there are only two tires on the planet that fit each 997.2 size. The Michelins and Pirellis for 18" and Dunlop and Pirellis for the 19". That is it!
And given classic economics 101, when you have a small number of suppliers, they act as a monopoly, (an oligopoly) and do what is simply called price gouging. All options are at the $1K mark.
So... I started looking at alternative sizing..... something I have no experience with. While I just started looking, I am not having luck finding alternatives in sizes that are "close".
If anyone spots an real, existing, alternative winter tire for the 997.2 rims, please post it !!!! This is one subject I will be very happy to be wrong about.
Thanx so much
