Default Speed channel closed??? WTF!

Since I am in Canada, we still have Speed channel, albeit fake, so I never realized it's done until now.

I am beyond shocked! This is quite ridiculous... they replaced it with some wanna-be ESPN channel and apparently getting LOWER rating than old Speed Channel?! http://www.sportsgrid.com/nascar/you...speed-channel/

I just hope ESPN now picks the slack and creates their own Motorsport channel to F*&$ these Fox a-holes... first they made it 80% Nascar channel now they just made it to cover sports that you can watch on ANY other channel?! WTF!

Anyone knows where some of the programming has shifted now (outside of Nascar)? Even online?!?

PS. In Canada they kept the channel (due to some old contract), but it's basically re-runs of old ****e!

Speed channel was crap anyways. Nothing of value lost there. I think Fox Sports covers most of the Grand-Am and Rolex series.

If ALMS is not broadcast on TV, you can catch the races on http://www.alms.com/alms-tv. Nice selection of in-car cameras to choose from too.

F1 is on NBCSports but I don't get that channel. I can however catch the races on a mexican channel, UniMas. I don't know what they are saying but I know enough of what's going on already to not need to listen to any narration of the racing.

thanks, I hope so. that's one of the things I'd be missing.

BTW, for F1, BBC online streams the races. A few times I forgot to PVR, so I just used a UK VPN, logged into BBC and watched the whole race online.

I didn't even realize speed channel was gone. I have not tuned in since F1 moved over to NBC sports. I cant live without Velocity channel though.

+1 on the velocity, and I too did not know that speed channel was gone. I watched "how it is made dream car" and the 991 was on. I enjoyed it. It was 30 min long but should have been an hour, seem a little fast.

I thought the Speed Channel had become the NASCAR Channel. No big loss.

I don't get BBC or Velocity. I do wish I had BBC just for Top Gear because Netflix hasn't picked up any new seasons yet. Actually I wouldn't have cable at all if not for my HOA having a bulk contract with *** for basic cable and even that was supposed to have expired months ago but I'm still getting it. At least I'm not paying for it.

Wow. The amount of work he had to do for that lap vs what Vettel did this weekend is night and day. Vettel's gonna have some god records but he's just n such a superior car its made F1 super boring.

Glad you liked it......that's how I feel about F1 today.

No warriors like back in the day. 1200 horses and shifting those gears manually and knowing that you were one mistake from heaven.......***** & skills...............and no one better than Senna!

You want to read a great book...short but awesome "The Death of Ayrton Senna" by Richard Williams.....none better than that one.

You can download all the new episodes on finalgear.com. Haven't watched speed channel in many years since all it covers is NASCAR.
