Hello everyone,

I'm looking to buy a set of 4 Michelin Pilot Super Sports, but can't seem to find them anywhere... I was just at Costco and was informed that the tires are on national back order and that delivery of these tires are unknown due to lack of demand?

Does this sound right to you?

I'm located in the New York City metro area, anyone know where I can find these tires?

I could understand a backorder situtation, pretty common, but it is NOT due to lack of deman. Just the opposite. They are very much in demand, and probably just running short on high demand sizes.

What other places have you checked? Tire Rack, Discount Tire? Plus right now people are stocking more Winter tires on the East Coast and we run non-popular tires sizes so it's not a lack of demand but a lack of supply as pointed out by LexVan.

The sooner you place your order, the sooner the tires will arrive. My independent shop placed the order for me through Tire Rack on a Friday. Tire Rack was saying about 20 days ( as I recall). the next business day, Monday, I was informed that the Tires would arrive 4 days later, Thursday. Tires were installed on Friday. 7 days end to end. Not bad!

If you use an independent and they are signed up with Tire Rack, the independent makes a few bucks, about $15-20 I think, per tire, you still pay Tire Racks price and your shop gets to make some money on the mount and balance.

Thanks for the quick reply's... Anyone running 245's on the front of their car with 19 inch wheels? I've been toying with this idea after reading a thread on here.

They are out there and it's due to high demand. They had a gift card promo that just ended. I had a hell of a time getting 305s for my rs. Took about a week. Really great tires.

If you need tires soon, may want to buy the Bridgestone S04, great value, rated higher than MPSS in ride, noise, etc... and in handling just behind it, but better than anything else out there.

Check Amercia's Tire/Discount Tire or Tire Rack online. I was able to source 997.2 2xfront (235's) and 2xrear (305's) in two days from Amercia's tire when Tire rack was 15 day wait. It just depends on the distributor, sometimes one gets them sooner than the other, but both are high volume and get priority on sizes/shipments. Doesn't sound like the Costco guy has it correct.

Thanks for the lead to America's Tire!

I ordered 235s and 305s from Tire Rack and the delivery keeps getting pushed out for what was a hard deadline to get them installed in VA when I fetch the '10 C4S on 10/14.

I'll call America's Tire tomorrow and confirm that they have these sizes in stock...

Why doubt Tire Rack? They don't get much bigger than them. If anyone would know, with a dregree of accuracy, I'd think it would be them.
