Default Introduction - my new 997 S (pics)

Hi people,
joined this forums a few weeks back but decided to make an introduction when and if I do get a 911.
I bought a silver manual 2005 997 Carrera S with black interior.
From what I've found out, the car has the 19" carrera classics, full leather interior (?), PCM, PSM(PASM?), Sounds package plus, bi-xenon headlights and sports steering wheel. If anyone can see any more in the pictures, it'll be cool to know

It's currently at my agent in the UK (just finished with inspection/service/preparation) awaiting shipping on Monday to New Zealand I test drove a few in New Zealand and so I can't wait to drive her.

cheers!

Yep full leather, stitching on the dash, door and around the radio. But they did put the steering wheel on the wrong side, get your money back.

Looks like you got the "steering wheel on the wrong side" option also.

sport seats yes, but i dont think the adaptive ones as the adaptive ones are fully electronic; with the 2 buttons right at the seat corner edge

beautiful car, love the euro plates... look so much better then north american plates.

I'm ignorant. I have adaptive sport seats and the seat shape is the same as mine. As I was typing my initial post I thought to myself "I wonder why they call them 'adaptive'?" Adaptive sounds better than "power" or "electric" I guess.

The more you know.....

That, and "A.S.S." makes for a great acronym for seats...

i think its

- sport seat < power seat (same seat but full power fore/aft/tilt etc etc) < adaptive sport (power seat + the 2 buttons at the seat corners to get the side bolsters to wrap closer around your back and legs for track use).

the adaptive seats are awesome imo. love mine.

Yes, the sensors in rear bumper reveal the "park assist" option, which I love due to the poor visibility to the rear. This car has sport seats, that have the same high bolstering that *** have (the seats themselves are the same). Sport seats have one power button for adjustment of the seat back, and a lever for seat rake etc. *** have full power for all adjustments, including memory function for positions. Adaptives also include the 2 front buttons for adjusting the bolster pressure. These are not included in the powered "comfort" seats (which have less bolstering).
Nice car. Be sure to drive it a lot and really enjoy it.

Thank you for all the replies I appreciate it heeps!
Thanks for all the congratulations too
I wasn't aware park assist was an option so thank you for the clarification.
Full leather is good to hear, as is the sports seats. I don't really need the power adjustments for the seats but the *** does sound cool. Perhaps for my next one? haha

I'll also have to see what I can do about getting the steering wheel swapped over

I am hoping it arrives around late November, I would like to bring it to track sometime after so rest assured I will drive it like it be driven

I just got a MY05 997 Carrera and a friend of mine turned me on to RENNTECH.ORG a website that has a ton of information on these cars. Particularly with regard to the OP's questions about options, you can find the option code tag on the inside left of the front bonnet. The website has all the info to translate this into an exact list of what you have or don't have.
