Default Shipping from Dallas to KC area?

Have a quote from Montway to ship enclosed for $730.

Anybody else I should check with that runs this route? Intercity is more than 2 weeks out and doesn't run this way much.

I know...I should fly and drive, but not sure I can pull it off with my schedule. Not completely out of the question yet.

Search for Rennlister dfwporsche and send him a PM. Tell him I sent you and that you are looking for who he used to ship a Targa from KC to Dallas.

The two guys who showed up were a small/sub contracted outfit but were very good. I think Chris (dfwporsche) called them and they were here within a couple days. I don't remember what time they loaded it but it was in his driveway that same day.

I remember them showing me a camera they had inside their trailer that they could monitor from the cab of their truck to make sure everything stayed tied down.

What are you bringing this way? Do you belong to the local PCA? Maybe I will see you around.

Still miss that little 88' Targa. It's apparently in France now.

About an hour flight from KC to Dallas and 550 miles drive back. Straight up I-35 to Wichita and then northeast to KC. I-35 is a nice road -- toll in places -- 75mph posted limit. There are 2 other routes shorter but the speed limits are lower. One involves US 71 (507 miles), the other US 169 (498 miles).

Roughly you are looking at a 9 hour drive. Half a day...

I'm seriously tempted to offer to fly myself to Dallas and drive it for you for free... fly myself out of KC.

There's definitely room in my schedule.

I had good luck with FedEx Custom Critical. Shipped door to door without a problem in enclosed van.

Earth Auto Shippers is recommended by several dealers based in Dallas. Believe they are affiliated with Earth Motor Cars.

I have always enjoyed the fly/drive experience. You'll get familiar with the vehicle during the drive.

Good luck!

With a V1 you don't have to dip under 90 on that drive from Denton to Lawrence other than Wichita.

Drive it and enjoy.

One can make good time with a V1 and some very attentive driving that's for sure. 90mph all the way save for Wichita? Well there is OKC. But once out of there the country is pretty empty up to Wichita. Then once out of there again it gets empty until one gets close to to Olathe.

But that does not mean it is free of bears... They're around. That's where the attentive driving comes in very handy.

Thought I would post a follow up on this thread...

I ended up booking an enclosed transport through Montway. Like many, they are a "broker". The driver explained they have a web based system to pick up hauling jobs. At any rate, I could not have been happier with the service. The actual driver was Dave Wilson, DW Auto Transport, out of Missouri.
