997.2tt radio comes on after muting spontaneously while driving. Any suggestions?

I don't know why, but my car does the same. I'm quite happy to put it down to radio interference by either the NSA or interstellar aliens. I've got problems, but the radio mute is pretty far down my list.

Turn off the Traffic monitor. Mine was doing weird things and I found a thread that indicated the Traffic monitor, which doesn't work in the US anyway, has been known to cause intermittent problems as it searches, in vain, for traffic info . Seemed to eliminate my gremlins. Won't hurt to try it.

Thanks - I'll try the traffic monitor fix. How annoying/embarrasing to be having a conversation with your passenger and have to keep turning the radio off...
