Default Production Volumes Questions

Since acquiring my 911, I've been searching to see how many 997C2 vs 997CS vs 997C4 and so on..... have been built.

I became curious as I've been reading through many forum threads and saw people arguing about weather or not a 911 is consider an exotic. I thought it would be due to lower production numbers and a rare design.

however, without knowing how many are built per year vs how many mustangs or other sports cars are made, I don't feel like I can draw much of a conclusion.

Anyone have any info on production amounts - especially for 997 911S in 05?

Thank you Bruce - yeah 09 was rough with 2010 as well ... does that affect resale value when they made less? I am assuming it was thanks to the financial meltdown.

Only in America would people say a 911 is not an exotic. Go to a "supercar" dealer in any other country and the Porsche 911 is on the showroom floor with all the other greats.

The problem with 2005 and 2012 is that these are transitional years, when production continues of certain configurations of the outgoing model, yet also, production of the new model has already begun.
For the 2012 numbers, how many of those produced were 997 vs. 991? I suspect 997 numbers were very low in 2012. According to the configurator, 997's were still being produced until recently.

LOL interesting point - the Ferrari store in my area sells, Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Maserati and cars like R8s and NSXs.

good call - in 04 Porsche put out 996 and 997s and I noticed that Porsches listed as 2012 can come as the 997 or 991. I noticed while I was in the Market for mine that there seemed to be a saturation of 997 Black editions.
