Default Is there a way to fill the headlight washer holes in front bumper?

I have cracks in my 997.1 C2 front bumper. Rather than repair the bumper, I bought a used bumper in excellent condition to replace it. Only problem is the new 'used' bumper was designed with holes for headlight washers. My car doesn't have that option.

I know bumperplugs.com can paint your headlight washer heads but I don't think they sell plugs to cover the holes. I plan to paint the replacement bumper so that it looks perfect when it's done. Is there a way to fill the holes or a place where I can buy plugs to fill in the holes? TIA!

Since you are aware of Bumperplugs, why not ask Eric?

If you are planning on respraying the new (used) bumper then simply have the body shop fill the holes, (plastic weld) before they repaint it. You will never know the holes were there.

Maybe Eric would know where to buy the plugs.

This would probably be my preferred option if body shop confirms that they can do it.

Thanks guys!

Another option would be to buy a set of headlight washer nozzles and plug the holes. Is somebody has a cheap set of 997 headlight washers sitting around, please let me know. They don't even have to work.

I would bet you that Eric can make a set for your car to fill the washer nozzle holes. It would be very simple. Don't make this harder (or more expensive) than it needs to be!

I asked Eric. He doesn't supply a plug large enough. The holes are too big.

Someone in the World Wide Web must make a plug for that size. Then paint it.

Why not go to a bodyshop and get it done right. Should not cost that much.

Yeah, appreciate the request - we don't stock anything that will fit that, but if you visit a highline body shop you may likely stumble on an easy fix, or something that will fit - it's an odd hole with nothing to help 'grab' the plug, so it's a bit tricky.

Beyond that, if you have to have the bumper painted anyway, a top shop can fill those before painting.

Default Bought this metal plug at OSH

Picked up this plug at OSH to fill in the 7/8th-inch hole in bumper. Fits perfectly. Doesn't sit completely flush but may look okay if painted body color.

Will meet with body shop tomorrow and determine if we will fill the holes or paint over these plugs.

Default Update

Met with body shop and decided to paint the plugs instead of filling in the holes. Here's a pic of the finished job. I'm happy with the result.

Yea it looks fine to me. Those things are useless to me, I have not used them once. Porsche should save the money or better yet parlay that money into automatic headlamps.
