Question Sport Chrono Clock not at 12 o'clock

Just purchased a 09 Targa and am loving it. One thing I noticed about the car is that sport chrono clock does not reset to 12 o'clock when I press reset. It's at 11:58 or 11:59. I tried to reset many times and it won't go to 12".

I tried searching this forum but cannot find this specific topic. Thanks for help.

The car's so freaking fast, it compressed the time & space conundrum.

When you start the clock, does it start from the 11:58/11:59 position, or jump ahead from the 12:00 position?

I don't remember what it starts at as I was concentrating on resetting it. Only had it for a week. I will check, thanks.

Sometime on watches the hand slips a bit. I would assume the chrono portion is also subject this. USMC posted a diy about changing the chrono back plate color and described taking the thing apart. This may help if it "slipped"a bit.

You get to take a minute or 2 off your lap times, and you want to fix that?

Default No worries

Some guys spend days and thousands of Dollars trying to pick up a second or two per lap. You just did it for free.

I second the advice given to look at the great writeup on how to replace your SportChrono face. It could be that the hand just needs to be manually (and carefully) adjusted a bit.

Just boarded my flight but from memory re my chrono face plate DIY you'll need to remove the chrono clock, pull out the needle, press it in just enough so it holds in place, turn the car on and reset the chrono, repeat until your satisfied that it is calibrated to center mast, then press the needle in completely to set it. Reassymble the chrono and you're back in business... try not to remove the 2 small hour/minute needles at the bottom. Life gets much more complex if you do... FWIW my p-dealer indicated that they had never actually opened up a chrono... GL and let me know if you need any insight. I'll be back home later this evening.

Checked out the car last night. The hands move accordingly as time moves on in chrono mode. The problem is when I reset everything, it goes to 11:57 now. I have extended warranty and I hope they will fix this when I bring it in. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions to fix this without ripping anything apart.

Also, I see some people post that there is function that can turn the chrono clock into a real time clock. Can that be done on my 09 targa?

Thanks guys.

I'd like to turn mine into a clock if possible. Can you post the link?

Sorry, I misread the other posts, cannot turn it into a clock. Can have it light up at night with your headlight switch though.

Good to know that the chrono clock lights with the headlight switch. Just starting to use chrono features, but haven't used it at night yet.
Thanks

The factory default setting has the light off unless the chrono is running. Some have changed the setting so that the dial is lighted, with the headlights on, but the chrono is off.
That seems like a useless light source in your night vision to me, but to each his own. There is a thread on this topic.

Porsche has turned the Sports Chrono device optionally into a clock for the Panameras but it won't do that in the Carreras.
