The software that runs the PCM has had an issue - sorta a blue-screen of death (from windows) but not.. because there still is some functionality.
Read out any error codes.. if not PIWIS may be able to get some diagnosis.
As a home remedy I would pull off the panels to get to the PCM and properly re-seat all of the various plugs and make sure nothing has come loose.

i have had that happen to me a few times after i installed a dension 500 i noticed when going over a hard bump something comes loose but when i turn off the car and turn it back on everything goes back to normal
