Would appreciate a recommendation of a high quality independent shop specializing in 997/water cooled Porsche service in the Chicago/borderline Wisconsin area. My car is now out of warranty and I would like to turn to expertise other than that provided by a dealer.

I live in the shadow of the Cheddar Curtain, and Chicago Performance and Tuning will get almost all of my work. (www.gocpt.com) Al is true car guy...They have already worked on my 997.1 and they did most of the work on my previous Audi. The quality of work is top notch.
I have heard good things about Golz Motors also. Never personally used them, but they are closer than CPT.
