Dectane rear LEDs - check left rear brake light error

Dectane rear LEDs - check left rear brake light error
I installed the Dectane rear LEDs and they worked fine for over a year. I did not install the resistors. I started to get a random check left rear brake light error message and now I get it all the time.
A few months back I did a quick attempt to install the resistors but was unsuccessful since I could not figure out where to install them and make them fit since they seem rather large.
A few questions - will the resistors get rid of the error message ( have people had success with this) and does anyone have pictures or a how-to do the installation?

Thanks jhbrennan - For some reason I was thinking it was an in-line resistor set up like the Rottec fronts. It looks like there was only one spot to connect the resistors so I can't mess it up too badly. 
I put in the resistors and will see if that fixes the issue.

Hi guys, I am now getting errors on my lights as well. I purchased them without the resistors. May I ask where everyone has purchased these?
I had bought these lights from a company that is nolonger in operations. What are my options ?
