Cylinder scuffing and ovaling are just the preliminary problems to what you got. Many engines can survive through it and never manifest to a full blown problem. Your under the wrong impression that these engines were made to track. They barley can make it under regular usage. People who race it replace their engines after the so many hours.

Are you getting this done at a dealer? Have they accepted back your engine core?
What is the final financial outcome of such block damage? Did they give you a printout of all charges?
