2012 997 C4S vs. 2014 Audi A7 vs. 2010 Range Rover
I'm looking to downsize to a single vehicle. The current stable includes the aforementioned Range Rover and Porsche. My dealer, Danbury Audi, has a 2014 A7 in stock with all I'm seeking. I'm looking for any and all feedback from the group about what your feelings are on the differences you've seen or experienced in these vehicles that perhaps I failed to consider in my decision.
I live in Manhattan and drive back to Danbury, CT every other weekend or so. I plan on driving all winter, so I will use winter tires on any vehicles I keep. It's just me! No kids or wife or pets. I like to drive! I PROMISE I didn't hit 100mph on the twisties just north of the GWB on the West Side Highway this morning (if you live near Manhattan, you KNOW how often that section is!) in my 911. I like sportiness and zip, so the Audi could get pretty awesome with a little help from the people at Stasis. But I also love the comfort the Range Rover provides.
Confused??? Do your worst!

Sell them all and get a 991 C4S.
Comfort, handling, power and day to day useability in one package.
If you prefer more luxury the A7 or maybe an MB AMG would be a good alternative

If you like to drive, the first one off the list is the RR.
I like Audi, and after the RR it would be a tough decision. The deciding factor will be your requirements for cargo space, ground clearance, rough NYC roads....

Have you considered the S6, I just saw one at my local P-Car dealer that also sells Audi, the thing is unreal and cost about the same as an A7.
Other than that I agree with the others get rid of the Range Rover and keep the 911, you have a 4S for a reason. Wait until you see how much that Range Rover depreciated, besides resale value they are not bad trucks.

I test drove an A7 a couple weeks ago. Nice, gazzillon electronics, etc. Wasn't for me. I can always drive one of those when I'm 70. Still having too much fun passing people on the right in my 911.

My philosophy is to stay in a Porsche as long as possible because you never know when you'll be forced out by life events or health.

I want to get an Audi S7 as my DD at some point, but the 911 stays!
If I were the OP, I'd keep the '12 C4S, its got 4WD so it can be a DD and used in the winter. Or trade both the Rover and 911 in for a new 991 C4S or 991 Turbo with all the luxury GT items one would want in the A7.

If you like to drive - the 911 is the ONLY option. C4S will allow you to pop up to Vermont skiing, and still be a blast in the New England twisties. TONS of great roads in upstate NY and western CT. Enjoy them! I was raised in Woodbury CT - and still miss driving my old '79 SC on those country, stone-walled roads... Good livin'.

The 911 will not clear Danbury winter snow if you are planning to drive from the city 25 times per year. That said, A7 will not be my choice replacement either. S6 or BMW 550XI are compromise choices.

Audi is finally coming out with many more diesel cars in NA for the new model year. That would be my choice due to the mileage you drive. Lets face it, NOTHING ELSE is a P-Car! Who in their right mind would want to mess up that fine machine in winter slop? I have had an A6 since 2001 and with winter tires, the thing will go through 2 feet of unplowed snow without hesitation. It will just about drive up a tree, unlike a C4. I AM pushing 70 and when I am not driving one of my two Porsches (also have a 964 Turbo), I ride a BMW S1000RR for real fun. It has a racing exhaust and when you push it over 5K, the motor howls. Cars get out of the way just because they hear me coming. Perhaps you might become one of my disciples and find room in the garage for the bike and something else for the rest of the year?
