Default Oak Tree at VIR

All - for those familiar with Virginia International Raceway (VIR) I just received an email the the famous Oak Tree fell today due to strong storms passing through.

Wow! Really? That tree was also very large and wide. Winds must have come up from inside the track - i can't imagine it blowing over from the backside.

i guess it will just be 'oak tree guardrail corner' for a while. too bad.
