Hello, I just purchased a 2009 Porsche 997S CPO car all maintenance is supposedly up to date but it doesn’t seem like the spark plugs were ever changed. The mileage just turned over 60000. Could someone please suggest a good dealer or indy to change the spark plugs on my vehicle in the Miami Fl area. I'm also concerned that I may need to go to a dealer to maintain my CPO status.
Thank You
Joe C.

You do not need to have scheduled maintenance performed at a dealer to keep the CPO valid. You only need to prove the maintenance was performed....I use this site when I am away from home base http://www.pcarshops.com/
When I am at home with my tools I use the DIY threads above...they are very detailed...maybe give the spark plugs a go yourself...

I think you should have new spark plugs on a CPO vehicle from the dealer. You might want to call the service manager of the dealership where you bought it
I bought a 2006 CPO car 3 years ago and it wasn't so easy for me to try and figure out what they did. The car was 4 years old at the time with 12k miles.
A few weeks after I tool delivery, I finally figured out they did a 4 year service including plugs.

Thanks for the replies guys, Deverest you're right I have used various dyi instructions on my previous Porsches and have solved many a problem with rennlist members. I was able to change the plugs on my previous 996 with no problem, but I feel I don't have proper jacks to lift the car and remove the exhaust system on this model. I will check the site you mentioned and visit a couple of those shops. Jack667 I'm with you I thought the CPO dealer would have changed the plugs, I called them and they read off a litany of items that were changed or inspected but no plugs. Robocop305, I like your choice in car color, and I will check out your recommendation too.

You should check the complete service records, not just the CPO service. I think I read that 09+ models specify 40K mile spark plug change. If so, perhaps your plugs were changed already. If not, your dealer should be obligated to change the plugs. You should not be responsible for expensive service immediately after purchase of a CPO car. No way you should be paying for new spark plugs.

I agree with you JW911, that's why I called the dealer twice to verify the records. According to the Service Advisor who checked two screens , one for cpo/warranty work and the other service records, found no spark plug change. And you are correct about the spark plug change being due at 40k miles, which should have been performed by them since they cpo'd the car at 45k miles. However my problem now remains since they are in Ohio and I am in Miami, Fl.
