Default Engine Purge Fan not working

I got an error P1675 today indicating that the engine purge fan is not working. I have a Durametric and tried switching on the fan but it didn't start. I removed the fan and connected it to a battery and it works. I put a voltmeter across the plug and I'm not seeing 12V.

Is there a relay for the fan and if so where are they on the 997? I can't find them anywhere but suspect they are behind the rear seats.

Cheers

John

Brilliant. Thanks. I removed the sub and carpet and sure enough the 7.5 amp fuse had blown. The fan now works. Great place to put a fuse Porsche!

I had tried searching the web but had only found articles relating to when the fan was supposed to switch on and off and not why it didn't switch on when it was supposed to.

Thanks for your help.

I had a recall notice from Porsche re Purge Fan which dealer performed (2006 C2) a few years ago. But I have never noticed the fan to come on even after a long spirited drive on a hot summer day parked in the garage.

Does the purge fan ever come on on your cars?

I do know it comes on after shutdown...and it's not hard to hear then. 40 minutes of highway driving in 100 degree temp, park in garage, close garage door and fan comes on in about 2 minutes.
