Default Mod Opinions

Well, I just installed Fabspeed mufflers and headers, an intake tube and a GIAC tune (on an 06 C2S).

My opinion so far:

- I don't feel like I lost any low end torque
- Car feels more responsive and somewhat quicker (some of this could be placebo)
- At WOT it sounds 1000x better than stock

Would I suggest someone spending $5500 on what I did? It depends what you are looking for I guess -- did I expect massive performance gains? Initially I was hoping for it but after a few days of reading on this forum I realized it wasn't happening. That said, I have no buyers remorse -- the car sounds great and it feels a little quicker.

i'm totally on board with someone doing these exact mods, but i think you overlooked possibly one of the best mods for sound (and possibly performance - always a topic of discussion) - 200 cell cats. no bigger difference on my car than the 200 cells from fabspeed. just gave you more money to spend. mufflers were maxflos, i assume?

i'd be interested to hear your impression of the tune. was everything done at one time? i'm considering the softronic from vivid.

Agree on 200 cell cats.
Here is my setup: Cargraphic + X51 headers. No re-flash yet. FVD offers good tune, I hear....

Worth mentioning, Frank at Orange-Tuning.de was more than helpful getting Cargraphic bits. Excellent source of quality parts. Highly recommended.

If you have mostly our exhaust components, I'd suggest an EvoMSiT tune as it's tailored closer to our exhaust.

Sport cats is next and final thing on the list. My mechanic had originally talked me out of Fabspeed cats as he had witnessed them "melt" numerous times. From the research I have done I think those days are long gone.

Thats correct -- Maxflo's -- really like them. Sometimes give you a low growl snap-crackle-pop at idle but for the most part really unassuming. Sound really mean at WOT.

GIAC tune seems fine? Since none of these mods are drastic improvements in performance its tough to give you an honest review.

Overall, after a few days of driving, I am really happy -- car seems a little peppier and sounds great.
