Leather Dash "Sweats"?
I've recently noticed that when it's hot inside the car (direct sun), the black leather dash in my '09 gets dotted with small dark spots. It almost looks like someone spritzed something on it. The spots wipe off when I rub the dash down with a micro-fiber towel. But, then they'll reappear again when the dash gets hot, like the small spots are seeping up through the leather. Weird. Anyone experience anything similar? As always, I appreciate your insights. Thanks!

Is the car new to you, or is this a recent phenomenon? It seems strange after 4 or 5 years that it would just start up. I wonder... have you treated the leather with anything?

I had a similar thing happen on my previous 993 Porsche. It was coming from the A/C duct on the dash--investigation revealed it was the bit by bit destruction of a black cellophane-like ribbon that was holding something in place inside the duct. We pulled it out and that was it

Pre-owned?
I think MJBird993 is on the right track. Is the car pre-owned or do you pay someone to detail it? If so, I suspect that something they smeared on your dash is coming out of the leather when the sun warms it up.

You guys are probably right. I did have the car washed at a hand wash place a month or so ago and they put something on the dash. I took it off and wiped down everything with a wet microfiber towel, followed immediately with a dry one. Whatever was on it, it looks like it hasn't all come out. Hopefully, after some more sweating and wiping, this will stop.

If you continue to have any issues with the product I would buy some Leatherique and let it work its magic. It wicks away contaminates from the leather and brings it to the surface so you can clean it.

So most likely it is the stuff they put on your dash that is causing it, so clean clean clean to get most or all out. Don't put on any protectant till you make sure all the undesirable product is out and "sweating" is gone, then apply a light protectant.
Good luck.

Dead Cows Don't Sweat (sounds like a rock group) so it has to be what was added without your knowledge. Fortunately for us all, Porsche as really learned how to do leather dashes over the decades. Years ago they would shrink up and warp and be problematic but they have modularized them now and issues are far in the past.
Use nothing other than a mild cleaner and leather protectant on these. The Porsche stuff is ideal. I personally use Connelly Hide Food.

Do not condition the dash leather - it's tanned and prepped for the dash beforehand, and any conditioning can loosen the bond. Seats, sure - once/year if needed. But never on the dash. Wipe with microfiber, no chemicals.
Might take a few attempts to dry out whatever is on there from before.
