Keep us updated and let us know if it turned out to be the battery, only other thing that pop's in my mind is a possible faulty ignition switch.

This is crazy.
Put the battery on a 4 amp charge for eight hours, let it sit overnight, and took it to a respected battery center for testing. Battery is fine. No suspect dead cells, load tested just fine. Owner of the battery place said to let it sit, outside the car, for 5 days and bring it back for one more test. A new battery is $185 and I don't want to buy another battery only to find it is some other gremlin.
So will advise forum in a few days what we find.
I thought this kind of thing only happens to ferraris.

Porsches do very strange things when their batteries are not 100%. Off the top of my head my AC once would not operate when the car was running due to a weak battery. If its near 5 years old change otherwise have it tested. Good luck.

No kidding. Mine did some stuff that made me LOL at it when its battery was on its last legs. I was glad when I replaced the battery that all returned to "normal".

So after a week I had the battery tested again. Sure enough, borderline specs. Bought a new one and installed it. After a couple of miles, the onboard computer " relearned" everything and all functions appear 100%.
Hopefully no more gremlins. It would appear that a battery needs to be in near perfect shape, or current drain while the car is parked will finish it off.
