Default 997.2 Dead Battery

Tried to start me 09 C4S Cab today after it had been sitting for months with a Porsche battery tender inserted in the cig. lighter. Tender had failed. When I inserted the ignition key there was a chirping sound under the trunk close to the windshield. Unplugged the tender, chirping quit. Key will not release out of the ignition, owners manual is in the trunk and it will not open due to no current to the solenoid that operates it. Help, how can I open the trunk to get to the battery & owners manual? Will hooking a 2 amp trickle charger to the cig lighter cause any damage? Any and all advise will be appreciated.
Thanks, Jerry

Default Dead

My battery also died on my 997.2 last week.
Cant open open, its electric.
My indy came over, told thru the fuse box he could open the hood.
Once boosted, drove to his garage and put in new aftermarket battery.

Battery is toast so trickle charger probably won't help. Here you go -

Thanks to you both, especially jhbrennan for sending the pdf of the fuse box instructions. Was able to open the trunk and retrieve the owners manual, put a trickle charger on the battery which allowed me to retrieve the ignition key. New battery forthcoming with fingers crossed that I haven't lost any parameters, etc.

Rule 1 - don't keep the owners manual in the frunk. Keep it in the glove box.
Rule 2 - see rule 1.
