Default PTV & rear brake pads consumption

I've got a couple of friends who are consuming rear brake pads like they're chocolates.

One car, a Turbo S on ceramics, has munched through a set in less than 5,000km and less than 10 track days.

Anyone else consuming at 'alarming' rates?

PSM is dragging the rear brakes.
Of course, you're on the other side of the world, so your car is upside down. Maybe that makes a difference.

Is there not a distinction to be made between PSM interventions and PTV? Is PTV a desired addition to heavily tracked cars, and will it play well with aftermarket LSD solutions, such as those promoted by Guard, Gbox etc.?

Just wondering. I'm looking at possibly purchasing one of the newer 991/981 offerings in which PTV is presented as an option - a $1.320 add on option on the 981's. And I gather two different "flavors", regular and Plus versions in the 991s. Cheers
