Default Wide Body Wonder

Going back and forth on a 996TT and a 997.2
I looked at a nice 09 C4 cab today. The salesman told me that the C4 gets the wide body while I thought only the S and the Turbos did. He said all the AWD are wide and the S had nothing to do with it. So can anyone confirm the which are and which aint?

In the past, only the Turbos and "S" models were wide bodies... now, most likely for production economy, only the AWD cars, Turbo or not, are wide bodies.

Not quite as simple as that since the RWD GT2, GT3RS and GTS are widebodies too.

Correct!

Yup my C4 is certainly a widebody as I'm now looking to nab some 15mm spacers to make the rear wheels look flush (running Carrera Sport wheels as pictured).

Got my first 911 two months ago. Always wanted just an outrageous looking
wide bodied Porsche for many years. Mine has no big whale tail as I always thought I would like, but I can always raise the spoiler. Mine is a 2012 C4 cab. It is basalt black and I love the look. 997.2.

C4s, Turbos, GTSs (I believe) and GT3RSs are all wide body - not sure about GT2s and GT2RSs, I think both are wide

The wide body is great. Ask, me, I have a GTS!

You get another 44mm on each side.
