Default Installing 997.2 Bumperettes on 2010 911 - Bumper Removal Required?

I have seen the walkthrough here:

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...p-by-step.html

But the parts I just received don't look the same. They have tabs on all sides, and no holes for pins.

Is it possible they can be removed and the new ones snapped in without removing the bumper? I would really love to avoid a dealer visit if I can.

Derek,

The link you provided about the bumperette removal is for a 997.1. I seriously doubt that you can swap the bumperettes without removing the bumper cover.

Derek
You need to remove the bumper to remove the old Bumperette but you can install a new one with the bumper installed. The rear bumper comes off in 10 min, just go for it.

i removed my bumper to replace the spark plugs, the removal process is super easy...make sure you put the tail lamps back correctly, some close up photos prior to removal.

Just to follow up...dealer was able to do the swap without removing the bumper, and it looks perfect.

I'm super happy with the paint match from bumperplugs.com! A++ would buy again (but hope I don't have to!)

That's good to know. I had my rear bumper cover off when I was swapping the center muffler, but didn't really pay any attention on how the bumperettes attached to the bumper cover.

Yeah, Eric does EXCELLENT work on his painted parts!
