Default Exclusive leather interior upgrades...highly recommended

Wanted to share my very positive experiences with Exclusive Options, a US based source for beautifully hand stitched leather interior upgrades for 997, 991, 987 models. In my experience, their products emulate the quality of the handiwork offered by The factory Exclusiv shop. Definitely for the enthusiast, very customizable products, ie special colored stitching etc

If interested you'll find the rarest of upgrades...ie leather covered sun visors, door handles, consoles, light surrounds etc.

You'll find them online at exclusiveoption.com or by email at info@exclusiveoption.com

I've used them before and can confirm the quaility of the work is top notch. The texture and colour of the leather and stitching is a good match for OEM. The main thing that I notice is that the stitching isn't pulled as tight as OEM so doesn't tend to sink into the leather as much and the stitch length is slightly different.

Yes they are not cheap and are more expensive that ordering the options from the factory. However if you are upgrading plastic parts to be leather trimmed then they are usually cheaper than buying the parts from Porsche. I prefer the OEM stuff for an exact match especially if you are putting them close to OEM parts.

My car had full leather but that doesn't necessarily mean everything that can be leather is leather.

I've replaced the following...

OEM Supplied:
A pillars
Defroster
Center Console lid
Fuse Box
Overhead console
Door handles
Trim between gear lever and console

Exclusive supplied:
Centre speaker
Door mirror triangles
Centre Console
Rear Seat handles
Rear Seat levers
Dashboard end panels
Small rectangular trim on the doors
Door sills
Seatbelt outlets

eBay supplied:
Leather trimmed version of the silver strip that runs along the width of the dashboard

John

I've used Exclusive Option, the quality is very good, but it can't beat OEM.

I've got both OEM and Exclusive Option leather upgrades. The OEM leather is just a better match. Depending on the color, the Exclusive Option leather isn't always a perfect match and the color of the stitching thread can be off as well.

But I would certainly recommend Exclusive Option over Classic 9 Leather. Classic 9 has good prices, but the quality isn't on par with Exclusive Option - IMHO.

Correction. I misunderstood the question.

Exclusive options seems to be very high quality.

Exclusive Option and Classic 9 are not the same!

I've used both and my ranking is as follows:

1. OEM Porsche
2. Exclusive Option
3. Classic 9

I tried Classic 9 once and will not go back to them again. Ended up replacing the piece they did with real OEM. They are the cheapest, but like they say, you get what you pay for.

I've never found cheaper, even once, to be better! In anything!

I've been on their site before and based on the pics their craftsmanship looks to be of very solid quality. I'm glad you are happy with your purchase.

Mspeedster,

Of course, you are correct.

I misunderstood PJorgen's question. Since he included the link, I thought he was asking....."how do these guys (classic9leathershop) compare to Classic 9."

My mistake!

You may have success negotiating price with Exclusive....especially if purchasing more than one item....!

When you guys say Exclusive's thread color may not match, in particular is there a color thread that theirs is off compared to OEM? Im looking to order some black leather parts with yellow stitching, as my car only came with dash, top of the doors/ rear panels, and pcm surrounds in yellow deviated stitching.

There was a NatGeo video on some Pcar assembly (Panamera I think). In the video, there was footage of the wrapping of a dash with leather. The dash skeleton had a channel carved into it in which the leather seam would rest. I don't think you'll ever get OEM quality on some pieces mainly because it's not the same part underneath the leather. The center console is a good example of this.

I recently had my sun visors wrapped by leather9. The quality isn't perfect, but it's not terrible either. It helps that these parts aren't installed right next to OE leather parts.

all the AM parts I've purchased have been wrapped on OEM parts, so yes--I believe it's apples to apples.
