After 16 years of ownership I totaled my 993 C4S late last year. Repairing it was not option. I thought a lot about getting another one. Then I remembered the $10,000 that I paid for a split case overhaul (leaks and SAI) and the approximately $5000 per year that I was paying for maintenance. I also considered the 15 mpg that I managed around town (where 90 % of my driving occurred)

I opted for a CPO 997 2009 model because of the DFI and have been very satisfied
My gas mileage is up, the car rides and handles better, the maintenance is much less Did I love my 993, you bet. Do I miss it--NO

Thanks everyone for your input. Have offer in on a 2010 997 C4S, CPO 6 speed. Hope to have it completed next week. Anxious to get back in a Porsche.

Since I've owned both, I am confident that you won't regret your decision.
