I'm resurrecting this thread. I was able to get all the nuts off. However, I was unable to remove the pipe that clamps to the center muffler. It was late and I was also getting tired and it was hot outside. The question, is there a trick to remove the connection to the center muffler? (997.2 car).

From my experience, all the nuts are easy to remove. I bought the S wrench and it fits the top nut on the bracket. That took the longest to remove but I accomplished it.

Here is a trick:
Remove the exhaust tips. This allows you to move the exhaust cans further out of the way. The little space you gain is essential

Once the nuts are loosened, spray penetrating spray/oil into the sleeve on both sides where it connects to the center/side mufflers. Twist up/down as you wiggle it to the side. If it's really stuck you can put a prybar/flathead screwdriver on it and tap with a hammer toward the center or side muffler. Either direction will allow it to be removed. Once you move it a tiny bit, spray more into the sleeves.

Makes sense and I was thinking the same thing. Although I never really made it that far. Also, I never picked up a E12 socket so that's on the list.

Thanks. That's my plan for tonight. I only half assed it last night but my assessment was that the pipes were probably a little frozen together.
