Default 09 C4S wheel repair or replace?

Drove about 50 miles before I realized this had happened. Do you think it can be repaired? If not, anyone have a replacement stock 09 C4S rear wheel? Hope the pics work, coming from an iPad.

Replace. Even if it could be repaired, I would replace it for peace of mind.

No. The wheel can't be repaired. Well, check that. I'm sure someone can "repair" it but Porsche cautions against light alloy wheel repairs that involve straightening or welding or cutting.

The tire is probably shot too.

And the alignment could have been affected. So after a new wheel and tire are fitted - and if the other tire is worn more than 30% from new it should be replaced as well -- the alignment should be done.

Just to be sure.

If anyone can fix it, Wheel Collision Center has repaired wheels for me in the past with great success. I'm not sure if I've ever had one damaged as severely as yours, but I'd call them or send them a picture for their opinion.

NO AFFILIATION.

Good luck!

Thanks for the input. I sent the pic to the dealer for opinion and found a replacement on eBay for about $700

I would be very careful buying a wheel off eBay, too many cast knock offs floating around.

I damaged a wheel similar to you and got it repaired. It took them several attempts to get the colour to match and the quality of the finish was shockingly bad. Got my money back and put it towards a replacement wheel from Wheel Enhancement.

The wheel was in as new condition and had been removed from a brand new car. Very pleased with the service and price. Give them a call.

I would send it to a reputable wheel repair shop and defer to their expertise on whether it should be replaced.

If they were Fikse wheels you could repair them all day long. I have my doubts about these.

Aren't these cast wheels? If so then I don't believe you can repair that type of damage with 100% confidence that it would not fail on you at a later date.
