Default Front Bumper Holes, No More!

Dealer apparently thought it was a good idea to put a front license plate bracket on a car that did not need one. I finally got around to taking it to the body shop to get it fixed. I'm much happier now!

Thanks, no new bumper. They just fixed the original.

How much did that run you? I probably should have gotten quotes, I did not think they could make it look that good. I went with Bumperplugs and it is much better than the plate, but yours looks much better.

It was about $800. A big part of that is the labor to take the bumper off and put back on the car. I was originally going to take it off myself and let them refinish it but never found the time. The shop (Paragon) has such a good reputation that I just let them handle it.

Maybe it's just the lighting, or a clear bra line, but I see an "oval" area that's a different color. I would think if they pulled the bumper, they would spray the whole thing.
I had the same dilemma, and went with plugs (you're welcome Eric), as a re-spray shows up on a paint meter.

The "oval" is a reflection of me sitting in a chair, believe or not! It is a perfect job, no issues. BTW, paint meters do not work on plastic. If I only had 2 holes, I would have probably gone the bumper plug route. With 4 holes and some road rash on the bottom, the body shop was a better choice for me.

"paint meters don't work on plastic"... The guy that painted your bumper tell you that?

Scroll down for the ultrasonic version for plastic panels.

Good one! The technician, not at the body shop, tested my paint before I bought the car and his paint meter, like the vast amount of meters on the market, did not work on plastic. It's a moot point for me anyway. When I look at the front of my car now, I smile. Before, I was pissed. If I decide to sell my car sometime in the future and a prospective buyer has a problem with how I fixed the holes in my bumper, I am sure that I can overcome that objection. We are not talking about collision damage or bad carfax reports in this situation.

To me it will not change the value at all, well done.

Looks Great, I can not believe dealers put 4 holes in some of these, ridiculous, my dealer did the same thing.

That's a proper 911, looks so much better without the plate.

Looks fantastic! It kills me when they drill holes and mount that ugly front license plate...
