Sold my 2005 997S Launch Car yesterday. I had mixed emotions 'throwing it out of my garage' since it's been in 'my family' for over 6 years. It was basically 'bullet-proof' for the entire time I owned it. A tribute to Porsche's detail when they introduced the 997 back in 2004. It went to a 'good home' so my anxiety was minimized. The new owner promised to take good care of her.
However, it is time to move on to my next 'family member'. I'm thinking a 2011/2012 GTS, new 2014 Cayman S, 2012 BMW 1M or possibly a 2012 Audi RS5. I know they all have quite a different personality but they all ring a bell w/ me. Since I am a Porsche affection-ado I'd prefer the GTS so I'm searching primarily for that one. It needs to be Carrera White/Black Alcantara w/ PDK, Sport Chrono & Suspension as a basis.
I plan to continue to hang out here in the interim and hopefully stay if I find my GTS.
Looks like I'll be in a 2014 Cayman S within the next few days. Pacific Porsche in Torrance had a car in inventory (still in the Port of San Diego) that came real close to my requirements. The sales team worked w/ me and we struck a 'mutually agreeable' deal this morning. I'll be going over there this afternoon to 'ink' it.
I miss my 997S Launch Car, but certainly not the black paint maintenance. The new Cayman S [of course] is white so I'll be spending more time driving and less washing.
I'll migrate over to the Cayman Forum but plan to still check in here every once in awhile to see what you guys are up to.
If you think of it, chime back in here with your thoughts/impressions of your new Cayman. I do think the new Boxster/Cayman are neat cars whereas the 991 hasn't struck a chord with me.

Congrats!
Will do . . . Hopefully I have the car in just a few days.
You might want to go test drive one . . . . I was impressed!
COngrats you will love that color same as my 911, carrara white with stone grey interior.
Everybody had been drooling over the cayman. I would love to hear your thoughts once you drive it awhile!!
Thought I'd share a couple of 'before & after' photos of my 997S to 981CS transition.
Picked up the new Cayman S yesterday so I don't have a lot of 'seat time' to share how it performs. The finish and detail of the new Cayman S is top notch. I will say however that the short ride was quiet, PDK was crisp, adaptive seats were so comfortable and my initial interaction w/ the PCM and controls was very friendly and intuitive.
The guys, namely Carl Tofflemire and Richard Presley, at Pacific Porsche in Torrance, CA were great. The bent over backwards to make the deal and treated me like family. It was truly a positive experience.
Summary to date: Happy as a Pig in S**t!
ps. Although not in the photo I changed the side markers to clear last night.
