Mine is for sale. In like new condition - I bought it from Sunset 18 months ago. Used 3 times. I have the bike rack also (from Rocky Mounts) if you want that. I sold my 997.2 last summer and bought a 1996 C4 so I can't use it anymore.

My C4 is an air-cooled 993. Last of the air cooled, more soul and I feel more connected to it. Certainly not as powerful or fast as my 997.2, but more enjoyable for me.

OP said he moved from a 997 to a 1996 C4 (993) - not a 996

Riley - why the factory rack?

For my road and mountain bikes I use www.seasucker.com and it kicks butt.
