Just wondering if there is a way to get more intake noise into the cabin of a 997.2? I wish for more intake noise not exhaust noise.

Replace paper element air filter with high-flow/washable K&N, BMC and the likes. They provide a little intake 'roar'.

Not sure about the 997.2 but the EVOM air box in my 997.1S does this nicely.

i read somewhere about a hose that makes the intake noise in the 997.2 quieter. if such a tech is there and we can disable it then that should create more intake sound but i am not sure about it. i just thought i read it somewhere and i am searching but could not find it.
i tend not to go with the oiled filters as i do not want the risk of dirty maf. bigger paper filters if there is such a product would be my better choice. is there such a product that would fit the oem air box??

997.1 has a helmholtz resonator that quiets intake - search that.

I also have been a little disappointed in the intake roar of my 2011 c2, because the intake roar of 2010 c2 I test drove before I ordered my car seemed considerably louder. I suspect that the Bose sound system, which I have, may be a factor because I believe the Bose system has a more elaborate speaker package behind the back seat and the engine. The c2 I test drove had the standard audio, which may have permitted more sound to pass from the engine.

I did ask the service department at my dealer if any changes to the induction system had occurred between the 2010 and 2011 models, but was told no change.

Question for op: do you have the Bose system?

Yes i do and maybe you have a point as the space where the subwoofer is is empty without the bose package. The sub box maybe, takes away soem of the beautiful intake roar im looking for. Our brother, jhbrennan mentioned the hemholz thingy, does anyone know if that thing is also in the 997.2?

Slicky, some additional items. I actually went to two dealers service departments in search of the elusive roar. I was prompted by the following quote in the 2011 catalog: "large-volume silencers and resonators in the air intake system minimize noise further" page 132. This statement, nor anything like it, DOES NOT exist in the previous years catalog.

One of the service guys was going to follow this up with a factory rep, but I lost a little interest because about that time I passed the break in period and I was able to generate good sound with my foot. Also, I have PSE, so I was close to nirvana anyway.

My next question is, what is the year of your 997? Mike

I have a 2011 and want more intake noise. I have heard tell of a difference in the stock boxes between the model years of 2010-2011. Have never pursued it with the dealer.
