Default replacing buttons on 997.1 PCM......

i'm sure others have this problem, but the volume and function button on the 997.1 "chip" with time as well as the AC fan speed and temp buttons..

can any of these buttons be changed out with ease or it requires full unit replacement (not a worthwhile option imo)

The buttons can be re-finished. I just had it done a few weeks ago. They charge $75 if you send the buttons in or $160 if you send the entire heater control. Located in Waldorf, MD just outside of DC.

There is a before/after picture of actual 997 buttons in their website gallery. Check it out (it's on the 2nd page). http://stickynomore.com/gallery.html

I actually refinished mine on my own, primarily because I was fortunate to have the Temp and fan icons free of the damage/peeling, so with some very careful fine grit sanding and masking, I was able to lightly respray the black on mine and dramatically improved the appearance.

The pics on stickynomore are more than bad. I was concerned when I saw them but after receiving the re-finished product I was happy. They did a great job and it looks perfect.

Care to share a picture of your refinished buttons? I'd love to see them.
