Default FAO: X51 airbox owners - need help!

Hi there

Got an X51 airbox, but its missing a part which Porsche can't locate for me as they need a partcode, I've circled the image in the part:-

Can someone please pull this part of their airbox, it just easily pulls off and should have a partcode stamped on it. Can someone post the partcodes which are stamped on it please to help me source a part.

If Porsche don't have it separately then I need to try and get something made up, otherwise my engine will suck in warm air.

Based on the picture in the Suncoast offering, that part looks like it may not be a separate part.

Who did you buy this from? If private party looks like they forgot a piece??

Bummer, hope that's not a $500 part. I suppose duck tape and conduit from Home Depot could get you by for now. Would give a "duck dynasty" kinda flavor to that engine compartment. GL though... I've been looking for a well priced x51 air box myself but at $3-4K it's just too far out of my range.

I got it second hand for $2300 delivered which was a great price, just missing that bit, Porsche are looking into for me as I've found the part number now, so fingers crossed Porsche can get. Otherwise duck tape it is haha.

In your prev post "Got an X51 air box, GT3 TB & Plenum - before & after dyno's", you posted a link to a company that sells the x51 upgrades http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalo...induction.html
On that page, one of the items is"Additional Scoop for EuroCupGT Y Pipe Kit", for 62$
Is this not what you're looking for?

The one they sell is completely wrong size.

Looks like sourcing this part will be very hard, anyone know anywhere that can maybe make one of these up for me?

What part is the wrong size?
-the am airbox doesn't fit the oem "scoop"
-the am scoop doesn't fit the oem airbox
-Or the scoop doesn't fit the hole you cut in your spoiler?

Is the "additional scoop" for the drivers side maybe? Have you tried contacting whoever made your x51 airbox? seems odd.

I can't believe the cost of these things. I agree they look great, but (luckily) we seldom have to look inside the engine bay, so IMO the looks aren't worth a lot for me. For the list price of an X51 air box, you could buy a used VF supercharger or a set of great light weight forged wheels.
Good luck with finding the missing part.

IIRC, a few years back that airbox went for less than 2 grand new. In fact a 'lister was offering one for a grand. I kick myself that I didn't buy it then. All of a sudden, Porsche jacked the price to 3400. Go figure.

I believe the part you're looking for is part # 997 110 252 00 - x51 Right side sealing bellows.

Check the parts diagram for piece # 14. That's the bellows for the stock air box.

Now go to second image listing more part descriptions. It shows #14 again but this time describing the right side bellows for x51.

You're welcome !

Love the look but stupid-crazy price. Too rich for my blood type.

I'll also admit it's a lovely looking part but jeez the price of them. I can't believe an aftermarket company hasn't come in and replicated the same design for 1/4 of the price. With all the interest in that style airbox, it seems like a no brainer for a company to develop one.

I've toyed with the idea of using a 997.2 airbox but apparently they don't fix in our 997.1 from what I've heard.
