What to do with stock 997.2 C2 exhaust?
I installed some new goodies in the car last weekend, including:
- iPod interface
- Retrofit steering wheel controls
- Short shifter
- smartTop controller
... and ...
OEM PSE!!
So here's the question, what do I do with my stock exhaust? Would someone want to buy it?

If you don't mind sharing, what did it cost for the PSE and the install. Did you buy a new PSE or slightly used? Did the dealership do the work? Did they do the full stock install with the switch on the console as if it came from the factory that way?
I am having my PSE and SSK installed Friday/Saturday on my '10 4S and am curious. OH and I would post the stock exhaust parts on this site and eBay- that is what I plan to do.
Thank you and nice car.

It was ~$2500 shipped for new parts and ~$1500 for the labor, both had nice discounts. I did the install at a dealer yes. Yes the install came with the wired switch.
Guess I'll post them on Ebay and report back =)

Many, maybe most for all I know, aftermarket exhausts won't pass CA smog so there should be a market either now or very soon (once the early 997.2's hit seven years old and require inspection) for a stock exhausts.

Hopefully PSE will? I'm in CA and I guess I don't want to get rid of them if I'm just going to need it back next time I need to smog =)

I just went through a safety and emission test here in TX with flying colors. I installed a full M&M exhaust system from FVD Brombaucher last year which includes long piped exhaust manifold, 200 cell cats, cans, and tips. I also used FVD's ECU remap to take advantage of the IPD comp Plenum, GT3 TB, and their exhaust system. So I was kinda expecting the worst when I took my '08 C2S in for inspection last week. But FVD has a remap which takes into consideration the use of high quality 200 cell cats so they enabled the emission readiness sensors within their software. So in my case no remap back to stock is ever required to pass emissions testings and no CEL's. I got what I paid for with this setup.

^That's great you passed. For sometimes better, sometimes worse, California is the opposite of Texas. I've read, here I think, that in CA emissions inspectors will do a visual before they even test emissions. If you have equipment that CARB/DMV doesn't recognize as compliant they fail you before they even hook up the sensors.

I doubt its legal to fail your emission test based on what a Smog test service guy thinks the exhaust should look like. They will not be knowledgeable enough to say a Porsche part from an AM one anyway.
