Question Better sound -

If you were doing only one or the other, would you do Gundo OR SharkWerks muffler bypass ?

I'd vote for the Gundo. By most accounts the cross-over pipes don't give that much sound difference.

I did the Gundo with 2" bypass pipes and it's not too loud on its own.
I'm toying with the idea of doing the cross-over pipes to augment the sound of the Gundo, but I'm not sure if it will be too much. However, I figure that if I don't like the it, it would be pretty easy to sell off the cross-overs in the classified section.

Hope this helps,
Bill

The SharkWerks muffler bypass is only for the 997.2 and NOT for the 997.1

I have both, put on the x-over first. The gundo is a much more significant increase in sound. The x-over is subtle. Depends on what you're looking for.

Exactly my experience with the two mods.

I have both on my '09 Carrera S and it's almost too much. I may remove the Sharkwerks and hear if that's a little more acceptable.

I have a 997.2 and have both. Do the Sharkwerks first. I think it would be just right. I did the Gundo first and it wasn't enough but both are a lot especially on a cold start up in the morning. I think the center muffler bypass would have been all I would have needed on a 997.2

Do both.

Even before I bought my 2010 C2S, my plan was to do both Sharkwerks and PSE. The first weekend after I bought my car, I installed the Sharkwerks pipes. 6 weeks later in had my local dealer install PSE. The car was louder with the Sharkwerks pipes, but not as loud as PSE. However, I knew that the PSE would not be as loud as it should be if I had kept the stock center muffler on the car.

The EVOM air box will also add sound to the whole equation... louder with a healthy mix of mechanical notes.

I did the bypass pipes first (eliminated the center muffler). Not much change in the sound. The Gundo really woke it up. DO BOTH!!!

Good feedback. I have not heard a center muffler bypass (only) on .2 and was considering going back to stock cans on the sides but leaving the bypass. Now I will probably just keep both as is.
