Default Back Seat Storage Options

Hello from Sunny Naples,

I just acquired my first 911, an '06 Carrera S with the Aero package. Pic to follow.

I'm looking for some kind of leather box/tray/trunk to put on the rear seat back to provide for more storage than the standard interior provides for. I figured If I could find one wide or two narrower leather lidded boxes, I could attach velcro to the underside which should keep them in place. I don't want anything tacky, of course. I was hoping to find something in black leather. Very tall order indeed!

Anybody have any storage suggestions?

Thanks,

Frank

Here's what I keep in the car, in a small package under the front seat. They can be pulled through the seat back in a few moments and secure pretty much anything at all. I know it's not what you had in mind, but it works pretty well.

Isn't an option like this one for my Saab, available?

So with the hindsight of a few years, is 4.5' a good length?

I have a cargo net in the back of my cayenne that's great for holding grocery bags, etc. The part is http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...ode=955S_Floor

I'd like to mount something smaller to the folded down rear seats but the only thing holding me back is figuring out how to cleanly mount the net. Something like this ought to work

Hey Frank - welcome! Your car looks great.

I have a question about your wheels. Looks like they are the "lobster forks" that have been either painted black or powder coated. I have a stock set of those in boxes and have been thinking about doing the same thing. Do you know what process was used, and are they holding up well?

Are you referring to the wind blocker? Not sure why he would put a wind blocker in a coupe? Its not for storage but maybe I'm missing something

Re OP, i find small soft sided bags work best as you can put them right on the seat. Anything with hard edges leaves an indent somewhere. I am sure you can find some nice leather bags (maybe duffel tyoe) that would work. I find soft sided bags also afford a lot more room for packing/storing stuff

Frank welcome and congrats on your purchase Would love a few more pictures when you get a chance. I would also consider a High Sided Luggage Compartment Liner for the Trunk if you haven't already. Edgy01 That looks like it works great.

I went with 5'-0" and 1" inch width.

20-20 hindsight--I made a good call.

I also went with the front trunk liner.

Frank, Gorgeous car! I'm a bit biased as mine is a C2S guards red aero. I was very close to buying your car months ago from Craig! Small world.

Enjoy in good health my friend, it is a beauty!!!

Sorry, saw too many Cabrio's. you are right, no good at all for a coupe. The belt idea is perfect.
But, the wind blocker is perfect for a Cab!!!!

Anyone know where to buy a mat to cover the rear seats when they are down?

Lloyds Mats makes a nice customizable mat to cover the seat backs when folded down. Several choices of materials, colors, and logos/lettering. You have to buy through one of their "configurator" dealers, like Automotion.

Interesting idea. Not sure why you need this though.. since it effectively only prevents small items from falling between the seats when they are folded down.

I did find it funny that they will not let you embroider car make/model info on the mats, so I could not, if I wanted to, get them to embroider Targa 4 on my back-seat mat cover. Ah, copyright and lawyers... messing up life every chance they can.
