Default Think I Found It: Input Please 09 Targa 4S

Here are the details:

2009 Targa 4S
Meteor Grey
Black Full Leather Int
PDK
31,500 miles
Out of Warranty and not coming from a Dealer so can't certify it
Getting PPI done by a dealer
Sport Chrono w/ Dash Wart
Bose System
Navi
Bluetooth
Heated and Air in Seats
Satellite Radio
No crests in headrests (I really love that look but oh well)

Agreed on price before PPI is 65,300. To me that seemed like a great price until I went on KBB and found that the price is about 3k higher. I can't find anything for sale close to KBB figures. Input on that would be great

Can you tell me (you all have more knowledge about this than I do) is it normal that if something comes back after the PPI to negotiate a lower sale price? That is my plan even if it is not standard practice.

Appreciate any and all feedback.

I negotiated for a lower price($1K less then agreed to) after the PPI uncovered some issues - leaking RMS and broken tailpipe. Even though the RMS was covered by the original warranty and the p-dealer replaced the tailpipe at their cost... the dealer wasn't correct(honest?) about their insistence that a PPI was not necessary so we settle on an additional $1K less for my troubles. It never hurts to ask especially if the PPI uncovers a few things.

If the PPI discloses anything I would re-open talks re pricing. Price seems fair if the car comes back clean and is clean with all maintenance up to date.

Sounds like a good deal, doesn't someone on here have one for sale? I would buy from an enthusiast and pay a little more if one is. I though I saw it here recently.

Good luck, hope the PPI comes out OK

Thanks everyone! The dealer said that he was going to try and let me know tonight but at the latest tomorrow by 9:30am. Didn't hear so I will have to take something to sleep!

If you must have a Targa then go for it assuming all is OK with the car. Targa's are hard to find. Check for small but important items, i.e. if the tires are brand new then you won't need to spend $1,400 for a new set soon, when was the last service done, if recently you won't have to do it soon, etc. Otherwise try to negotiate down a little based on these items and others like it.

Good luck!

$65k sounds like a fair price to me. Targas are really hard to find and if that's the car you want ...
