The requirement is exactly the same as on the continent. Twin rears is not code in Blighty. The Brits can be kinda wacky when it comes to following EU rules, but that is not one of them.
From the MOT Book - "The inspection of rear fog lamps is confined to the one rear fog lamp which is required to be fitted to the centre or offside of vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1980'.

Can someone explain why the 997.2 turbo/turbo s still has front fog lights and the rest of the 997.2 911 models all have proper DRL which are the turn signal and function as the DRL?

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say the 997.2 has A fog light.
Running 24-7 with front mounted fog lights on is one of my many pet peeves. My Mother does it and every time I am near her car I reach in and turn them off. She claims that she doesn't leave them on all the time yet after I turn them off, the next time I see her, they will be on again.
I should just disconnect them. She probably wouldn't even notice. They certainly don't prevent her from hitting stuff.

The 997.1 turbo has fog lights. I thought they were replaced with LED daytime running lights in the 997.2 turbo. Is this not the case?
