I have a 2008 Carrera without PASM. I would love to lower this car but can't decide what is the best way to do it. Get coilovers or just lowering springs. I have been looking at KW ClubSports ($3100.00):
http://performance.importrp.com/kw_s.../i-686408.aspx
Their springs rates are: 400lbs Front and 970lbs Rear
Or, should I go with simple H&R Lowering springs ($315.00). There is a huge difference in price..
Car sees occassional track days but majority of driving is on the street.
Anyone with any experience with the above KW ClubSports?
Thanks

Do you need the adjustability? Do you expect that you'll be scraping the ground in key spots in your commute and wanting to raise a bit?
I can't speak as much for the 997 world but for my BMW e30, coilovers are reserved for the really serious track rats and some of the cheaper racing series don't allow them to keep the costs down for racers.
The 997 suspension is already very good with the right springs and dampers. You might want to review to make sure you've got a good pairing of damper to go with your H&R springs if you go that route.

I have a 09' base Carrera that I dropped with H&R's. It looks better but that's where it stops. If I had the $$ to spend I would have done coilovers.
My 993 has bilstein PSS9's and and upgraded sways. I took the 993 through some paces today on familiar open roads and only wish my 997 felt as planted.
You get what you pay for.
