I am a guy who always, always, get's PPI done regardless of what I am buying.

With an '07 C4S is it smartest to have a dealer do the PPI or is a strongly recommended indy as good or better?

I am thinking about my recent modern BMW's and I would never get PPI done anywhere except the dealer due strictly to the computers/gizmos.

Thoughts? (I did try searching a couple of times but like with so many searches, even buried answers didn't address the specific question.

Indy. A good one will have all the necessary tools.

Ditto Indy. Some may not be able to read the DME for over-revs, but other than that they should be able to eyeball all the major stuff. I have it done wherever it is most convenient to myself and the seller. If I'm the seller, I let the buyer pick the place (it runs about 50/50).

I've had several PPIs done, at independents, at dealers, and the quality varies with each one, which tech does it, etc. so I'm not sure that it matters all that much where you have it done unless you know the shop.

Don't ask me about the time I had a PPI done on an Aston Martin. Oye!

I'm curious if your dealer will do one. I'm in Houston and no dealer here will. I had mine done at an independent shop.
