Default Getting rid of wood trim

Hi,

I have a base 997.2 that came with some wood trim -- the e-brake / shifter, the 5 pieces of dash strips (cupholder and pieces around the steering wheel). What are my best options to get rid of it? I'm looking at the silver pieces, but I think that they'll clash with all the gray trim already there (since it's not C2S, no silver trim).

The options I see on Suncoast (http://www.suncoastparts.com/categor...en236dash.html) are:

Carbon Fiber ($600), Leather ($415), Silver ($150), or primer ($100). Or convince myself that it ain't that bad, luxurious even ($0).

Hopefully, I can also find a shifter/e-brake that will match.

What should I do?

Hi,

You should replace the wood trim parts AND the grey plastic parts - this looks out of place at your fine blue interior..

When you like to go with carbon, check out our 997.2 programs - there you´ll find everything: 997.2 - DB Carbon

I would go with Silver, that wood is hideous IMO.

Black would look good if available. I hate wood trim so the silver, even if it clashed a bit, would still be better.

Here's an idea. Talk to Eric at Bumperplugs. Maybe you can remove some of the parts, and have him paint them in the color you want. The dash strip would be the easy to remove and have painted to match your exterior color (for example). Then, buy a new shift **** and e-brake from Sunset.

Sell the Macassar wood **** and e-brake here, to help slightly offset your expenses.

IIRC, that was at least a $1,500 option.

you can order pieces that match your interior. I will PM you the most economical source for the parts (that I have found, anyway).

Default WOOD

I like the wood accents.
If you take them off and they are perfect, I would buy them.

+1 for Eric with BumperPlugs. GL and post some pics when you're done with the transition.

I like it. Should replace the shift boot trim with wood too.

Given the other silver bits on the doors, AC, glove box, I don't get why more silver would clash. I'm not a fan of the wood, and given that you actually see the interior while driving, make it so you love it, as much as you love the rest of the car. No reason to compromise.
