Default Said goodbye to an old friend

I said goodbye to my 2006 997 C2S Cab last week. Decided to trade it in for a new 991 C4S Cab. I really enjoyed my old cab and am sad to see it go. It treated me well. I hope it goes to a good home.

Congratulations! I am interested on the configuration of your new 991 and your perceived differences between it and your old 997 (especially if the new one is a cab). Drove a 991 for the first time this weekend.

You will love the new car! I''m curious after owning your 997 cab for so long how was the reliability and how much was it driven? Thanks in advance for any info.

My config on my 991 C4S Cab:

Triple black
Leather Int
14 Power Seats
Bose
Prem Pkg Plus
online services
sport exhaust
heating steering wheel
park assist
sport chrono
stainless sill guards
20" sport techno wheels

No pics yet. Its been living in the showroom the last couple weeks. I'm picking it up next week to have the front end wrapped in Xpel, install Bel STiR, Laser Interceptor, and then it will hibernating for a month or so until the weather gets better.

I had a total of 24K miles on my 997C2S Cab before I traded it in. I drove 3-4K every year. Besides doing the annual maintenance and a major service, the only thing that I had a problem with was a bad GPS antenna that needed to be replaced. Otherwise it was pretty trouble free.

Congrats Kev. Your "old" 997.2 looks awesome, but I am certain the "new" 991 will be unbelievable!

Please post pics & impressions of the new C4S cab... I am thinking of "upgrading" to a 997.2 C4S Cab or a 991 C4S Cab - and am very interested in your thoughts.

Please post your opinion on the Laser Interceptor after you have it installed. I'm thinking about installing one this summer.

Love the Laser Interceptor. I had it removed from the 997, before I traded it. I have in my Cayenne as well. Definitely saved me from some tickets. State trooper exclusively use laser here in MA

Everyone that has one loves them. It seams like they are the best on the market from the research that I have done.
Which one do you have?
And do you have a sensor on the rear?

I had the triple in the 997, with all 3 up front. Its probably over kill, so I'l probably have on mounted in the rear. They don't shoot laser from the rear here in the north east. Adding a sensor/transmitter on the LI is easy as its just a software switch that needs to be turned on/off.

As my son once said when I mentioned that my radar/laser detection system was only in the front: "Dad, you have a rear detection system. It's called the mirror."

Seriously, I also live in Mass. and the laser detection has saved me many times.
