Only reason to get the 4S for you would be the looks. It's more expensive and its a little heavier and the drive is different. Not worse, different. Plus on a 5+ year old car, awd is yet one more thing to go wrong.. I almost bought the 4S for the looks, but decided to go 2S. It's not like the 997 is narrow back there, especially compared to a 996. Where abouts in SA are you? I went to UCT

I had the same dilema. I chose the C2S for the fact that it was easier to work on myself in alot of ways, less underpinnings and such, and lighter weight. I drove the C4S and while it seemed like it gripped the corners differently, I liked how I could hang out the rear some on the C2. And if the C2 you are looking at has no sunroof, I would definately get it. Rare.

+1... the sunroof delete is the winner in this contest especially if you track. BTW, I've been through SA on my way to Windhoek a few times.

Sounds like the C2S is the better buy. But like others suggested, you should drive both.

I like my 4S. It came with everything i had fantasized about when i built my own car on the Porsche site. My next car will be a 2wd. I had lusted after the GTS, which is a wide body 2wd. I just could not deal with the center locks.

Thanks for all the advice. Unfortunately I can't test drive the 4CS as I'm in Cape Town and the 4CS is in Johannesburg. From all the info I've decided to go for the 2CS, the car has a better record and Porsche Cape Town vouches for the car. I'm just going to add the Sport button for that better throttle response.

Will keep you posted when I take delivery, probably in a weeks time. Very exited, my first Porsche.

Funny how people with 4S prefer the 4S and people with the 2S prefer that. Just wondering.

Of course, I am a 4S kinda guy
